The Foothills Classic – October 26, 2019

Saturday, October 26th, will be our second contest of the fall marching season. We will be competing at “The Foothills Classic” in Seymour, TN. An admission fee will be charged for all those wishing to attend this event. The contest will begin at 1:45 pm and will conclude after the awards presentation at 8:00 pm. The Betsy Band will perform at approximately 6:45 pm. Refreshments will be available at the show. Your child will need money for one fast food type meal and any snacks they wish to purchase. The following will help you plan for this special day:

11:00     Load Trucks
12:00    Load Buses
12:15     Depart for Seymour High School
2:12        Lunch McDonalds Jefferson City
4:30      Arrive at Seymour High School (school address:
                    732 Boyd’s Creek, Seymour TN  37865)
4:45      Bathroom, unload trucks, dress – white gloves
5:35      Depart for band warm up
5:45      BAND WARM UP
6:40      At gate
6:45      IT’S SHOW TIME
7:15        Load trucks and shacks
8:00      Awards
9:00      Load trucks and shacks
10:00    Depart
12:00    Arrive home
(unload prop truck, band truck Monday during school)

*If your child does not return with the band they must turn in a “return with parents” form BEFORE we leave EHS. Also, when you pick up your child you must report to a chaperone before departing.*

This will be an exciting and challenging event. The contest is divided into four groups, we will complete in class 4A. Bands from east and middle TN will be in attendance. A total of 11 groups will be performing. Wish us luck.

Remind your child to be on their best behavior as we represent our town and school. All rules of Elizabethton City schools will be in effect on this trip.

Nov. 3rd – 38th Annual Tennessee Division II State Marching Band Championship

The 38th Annual Tennessee Division II State Marching Band Championship will be our final competition of the season.

Oct. 27th – 34th Annual Appalachian Classic

2017 Senior Group Picture

Any senior and parent who would like to be in the senior group picture:  We will meet at the stadium 2:45 p.m. in order to be ready for pictures at 3 p.m. Bring/wear uniform and parent(s) should come dressed for picture as well.

Elizabethton Christmas Parade

EHS students will meet at Big Johns in uniform.  The parade will begin at 6:00.  An exact time has not been given for the EHS band members, however they may not have to be there until 6 since they will be coming in parade order last before Santa.  Mr. Elliott will confirm that time with them this week.

TA Dugger students will also meet at Big John’s, but they will need to be there earlier. Time to be announced.

EHS Betsy Band Christmas Concert

Concert begins at 7:30 at Milligan.  Students are to dress in concert attire (all black).  TA Dugger band will perform first and then EHS.  Invite your friends and family to come!  This is a great evening with the best Christmas music around.

EHS Jazz Band Christmas Concert

Concert begins at 7:30 p.m. at Grace Baptist Church in Lynn Valley.  A GREAT evening to listen to the best Jazz Band around!
